  • sweet onion (1)
  • cloves of garlic (4)
  • butter (3tbsp)
  • salt (some)
  • pepper, (some)
  • cumin (1tsp)
  • sweet paprika (1tsp)
  • cayenne (.5tsp)
  • crushed tomatos (1can)
  • eggs (4)
Cookware:
  • saucepan
  • oven

Step 1

  • bell pepper (1)
  • sweet onion (1)
  • cloves of garlic (4)
  • Slice one red bell pepper (1) , thinly slice one sweet onion (1) and shop up 4 cloves of garlic (4) .

    Step 2

  • butter (3tbsp)
  • In a large saucepan toss in 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter (3tbsp) and heat that until bubbling.

    Step 3

  • pepper, (some)
  • Add your bell pepper and sweet onion with the garlic, season lightly with salt (some) and pepper, (some) cook that over medium heat until the vegetables begin to soften.

    Step 4

  • cumin (1tsp)
  • sweet paprika (1tsp)
  • cayenne (.5tsp)
  • Then add cumin (1tsp) , sweet paprika (1tsp) , cayenne (.5tsp) and slightly toast the spices.

    Step 5

  • crushed tomatos (1can)
  • Then add crushed tomatos (1can) .

    Step 6

  • eggs (4)
  • Then crack open the eggs (4) into the pan and let them cook.

    Step 7

    You can optionally but the whole pan in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 5 minutes.

    Step 8

    Garnish the shakshuka with all your heart desires! You can add parsley, coriander, feta or why don't you try some parmesan?
